Part of the original Canongate Tolbooth built in 1591, the medieval building that now houses the Tolbooth Tavern was once used to collect tolls from travellers entering the burgh at the Canongate. One of the oldest pubs in Edinburgh, the Tolbooth Tavern is a cosy traditional Scottish pub full of character and charm with a prime location on the Royal Mile.
